Petaluma Riverfront Trestle Now Kickoff Event
Argus Courier article – Revitalizing Petaluma’s historic trestle has been a favorite local cause for decades, with various groups taking it on before bumping up against funding, bureaucratic or other barriers.
Now a new group, Petaluma Trestle Promenade Now, is trying again, with a community kickoff meeting held Thursday, May 28 outside a downtown cafe so that its leaders and supporters could focus on how to make it happen.
“We are committed to doing something now,” said Mayor Kevin McDonnell, a member of the new group’s steering committee, speaking to a large gathering of locals on the wharf outside River Front Cafe — an ideal spot near the end of B Street where the trestle itself is close at hand.
